North Reno
North Reno is just North of the University of Nevada, Reno, affording most residential properties with spectacular panoramic city views, overlooking the both the City of Reno, Sparks, and the High Sierra Mountains. Situated very close in to the Downtown Reno core is an easy commute by hike, bike or car, with great access to Reno Transportation Commission “Blue Line” bus Stations that come and go in every direction, every 30 minutes…! North Reno has an abundance of affordable “Student Housing” available from low to mid range apartments starting at ~$500 per month for a one room “Studio” apartments, on up ~$850 per month, for a typical large 800 Square Foot two bedroom apartment. There are also a number of affordable “Condominium” communities, as well as numerous affordable single family homes available for rent. Single family homes generally rent for between $.80 – $1.00+ cents per Square Foot per Month. So for a typical Three Bedroom, Two Bath, Tow Car Garage home, aka as a “3-2-2”, One Thousand (1,000) Square Foot Home, expect rental rates to vary from $800 to $1100 per Month. Rental rates are currently increasing, due to the housing crisis and all of the homeowners who have been foreclosed on over the past 4 years who now are being forced to rent, and are now “Competing” with the general rental market for a limited shrinking rental supply pool of available homes. Also, due what is affecting the supply of available rental properties is that many income property owners are also distressed, who are very good at collecting the rent… but they are not paying their mortgage…!
